Â
Â
Dana: Liza, welcome. Â Can you tell us a little about Saving Casey?
Â
Liza: Actually, I’d like my fabulous book trailer to do that. It’s a great ambassador for my novel.
Â
Dana: That’s great.
Â
Liza: Thanks, my trailer is in a video contest right now and I’d love it if your followers give it their vote.

Liza: Now for those who can’t view videos, here’s the blurb:
Â
Having been diagnosed with cancer, Cass Goldman decides to opt out of any futile medical care and end her life. While she has some thoughts on afterlife, she never expects to reincarnate into the body of a seventeen-year-old girl named Casey Davidson.
Â
When she awakens in a hospital, Cass discovers two disturbing facts: One, she is now inside the body of a troubled teenager, and two, the former owner of this body committed suicide, but only Cass knows that. Everyone else believes Casey has survived, but suffered a complete memory loss. Cass has two choices: to take on Casey’s life and turn it around, or to confess the truth about her reincarnation and end up in a mental asylum. Given this second chance to life, Cass decides to take on the future life of Casey—the frightening ghoul-faced teen with short, black, spiky hair.
Â
Every person around Cass has an ulterior motive and discovering the truth of Old Casey’s life is more complicated than the “new math†she is forced to learn in school. In addition, Cass has to contend with raging teenage hormones and the prior crimes of Old Casey, which she might not remember, but everyone else certainly does. However, her biggest frustration concerns her feelings for her father’s rugged security specialist who sees her only as a teenager and doesn’t want to explore the mutual attraction between them.
Â
As determined as Cass is to turn this life around, Old Casey’s enemies are just as determined to end her life. She has no idea whom she can trust, but she knows she’ll never survive going it alone.
Â
Dana: I understand you’ve brought two of your characters for me to interview today.
 Â
Liza: I have. My main character Cass Davidson and her security specialist Troy. I’m going to step out while you interview them, because otherwise Troy won’t say anything of interest if I’m in the room. He thinks I lack discretion.
 Â
*Cass and Troy enter and Liza leaves*
Â
Dana: Cass, Troy, have a seat. Cass, tell us about the first time you saw each other.
Â
Â

Â
Â
Cass: The first time I saw Troy, I’d gotten detention hall for kicking this jerk in the balls. When I came out, My dad’s standing in the hall with this hunk in a black suit. My hormones went wild at the sight of him, at least until I notice the wire running up his neck to his ear. Then I concluded he had to be a plain-clothes cop here to arrest me.
Â
Â
Dana: *turns to Troy* You were there to arrest her? (Uh Guwahhh...he is freaking HAWTT!!!)

Â
Â
Troy: No. Her father, Dan, is both my employer and best friend. He’d received a text, warning him Cass would be gang-raped when she left detention hall. So Dan asked me to come along and assess the situation. To be honest, I suspected this was just another one of Cass’ pranks, and she had sent the text herself.
 Â
Dana: And was it?
 Â
Troy: No. Her shock and outrage at her father’s arrival assured me she didn’t expect him to show, nor was she happy to see him.
Â
Dana: *turns to Cass* Why would you be upset that your father had come to your rescue?
Â
Cass: “I had no idea I was minutes from being gang-raped. I thought Dad had arrived because he didn’t trust me to go home by myself, thus he planned to leave work and escort me back to the house each day after school.
Â
Dana: Troy, what drew you to Cass? And don’t tell me there’s nothing going on between you. I understand that she’s 17 and you’re 30, so this relationship is entirely platonic. But unless you’re claiming to have no feelings for Cass, then I want you to answer my question.
Â
Troy: Even before I met Cass, I had a great deal of feelings toward her and none were good. As far as I was concerned she was a troubled, out-of-control teen, who was trying to drive her father into an early grave.
 Â
Cass: *gasps* Troy!
Â
Troy: *meet her gaze* But once I met her, I knew I had my facts wrong. Before we even reached the front door of the school, I determined Cass to be quite rational and articulate. When we exited the building to face the entire football team, waiting for her, she grabbed her father, not because she was afraid, but because she wanted to prevent him from attacking the lead troublemaker.
Â
Cass* smiles at Troy* That was my intent, but how could you have known that?
Â
Troy *returns her smile* Maybe because I had the same concern. Or maybe I can read you really well.
Â
Cass *wiggles with happiness’
Â
Dana *clears her throat*Â Still, something else must have occurred for you to fall in love with her.
Â
Troy *frowns* I don’t feel comfortable using the L word. Let’s just say a strong bond formed between us when…Cass why don’t you tell this part.
Â
Cass: With pleasure. When I got home from school, I went to the gym and started kicking this bag, pretending it was the jerk I’d kicked this morning. Suddenly a voice speaks behind me and I fall flat on my butt. Like a true gentleman, Troy offers his hand to help me up. The moment I took hold of it…* she looks at Dana* I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like we resonate at the same frequency.
Â
Troy: And I got her humor.
Â
Cass: *nodded* That’s was huge. No one else in Taraville—
Â
Troy: That’s what she calls their giant estate.
Â
Cass: …gets my humor. Before Troy, I felt like a comedian working the wax museum after closing hours.
Â
Dana: What is your favorite thing about Troy?
Cass: He’s strong, honorable, dependable, reliable, sexy as hell, but my favorite thing is he gets my sense of humor.
Â
Dana: And you Troy?
Â
Troy: Cass is determined, smart, reliable, amazingly mature for her age, and she has a fabulous sense of humor.
Â
Dana: I realize that right now, you two have a platonic relationship, but care to share any future plans?
Troy: You go first, Cass.
Â
Cass: Well, first I need to improve my grades so I can get into a good college. Once I get a PHD in education, I’ll use my trust fund to start a foundation to help children being bullied and abused to get help. *She smiled at Troy* And at that point I’ll be an adult in my mid-twenties.
Â
Troy: And hopefully you will find a nice young man to fall in love with. And if you do, no one will be happier than me.
Â
Cass: Well don’t expect me to reciprocate. If you dare fall in love with someone else, I will never forgive you. We are soul mates, and maybe you don’t realize how rare that is, but I do. *Cass stand* Do you have a bathroom?
Â
Dana: Down the hall on the right.
Â
Cass: *runs from room*
Â
Dana: glares at Troy. Why do I get the feeling you never intend to hook up with Cass?
 Â
Troy: Time can’t change the fact I’m 13 years older than her, or that she’s my best friend’s daughter. I will always be too old for her. She needs to meet someone her own age. And for that to happen, I’ve got to ease out of the picture, but right now I can’t do that.
Â
Dana: Because you love her?
Â
Troy: *sighs heavily* I will always love her. But right now she has enemies who are trying to kill her.
Â
Dana: Who?
Â
Troy: *his fists clench* While I know some of the players, I haven’t identified the head of this snake. Until I do, I cannot leave her unprotected.
Â
Dana: And once you have her safe?
Â
Troy: Then I’m gone.
Â
Cass: *stands at door* Troy, you don’t mean that. You’re the only person who gets me. You can’t walk away just because you don’t feel ‘comfortable’ with our age difference. You’re my rock. How am suppose to pull my life together if I don’t have you?
Â
Troy: *runs hands through hair.* We’ll talk about this later. Right now we need to get you home.
Â
Dana: I hate to see you go, but I appreciate you coming and actually talking to my readers. *Watches them go* Liza!
Â
Liza: You seem upset. Did Troy clam up and claim there’s no romance going on.
Â
Dana: No, he was terribly candid.
Â
Liza: Then why are you so sad?
Â
Dana: Because they are never going to get together.
Â
Liza: Dana, Troy didn’t write the book. I did. I promise you, there is a happy ending.
Â
Dana: But how?
Â
Liza: And spoil your fun of reading my book. NEVER!
